A physician specialising in public health and social medicine, Hélène Rossinot has made family caregivers, and all of society's invisible people, her life's work.
Born and raised in Nancy, France, Hélène Rossinot is a physician specialising in public health and social medicine. In 2019, her first book, Aidants, ces invisibles (Invisible Caregivers), forced into the public debate a subject no one wanted to see: the millions of French people caring every day for a sick, elderly or disabled relative. It earned her the Académie de Stanislas prize and the Achard Medicine prize of the French National Academy of Medicine.
Selected as a Young Physician Leader by the InterAcademy Partnership in 2015 and named one of Forbes France's 40 women of the year in 2023, she is a regular voice in the French national media and the author of widely noticed op-eds. Her expertise is recognised in France and abroad. As the founder of Because We Care, she also advises companies and institutions on internal policies to support their most vulnerable people: working caregivers, chronic illness, visible and invisible disability, burnout.
Trilingual (French, English, Italian), she also works to make public health accessible to everyone on social media, where more than 90,000 people follow her.
A patient herself, living with spondyloarthritis, which she has spoken about publicly since 2025, she writes about health from both sides of the stethoscope. She is the author of five books and currently leads a major research project on family caregivers.
